959

ParlophoneThree David Bowie titles will hit stores June 29 — CD and digital versions of his recent Record Store Day offering Welcome to the Blackout (Live London ’78), and vinyl reissues of the soundtrack to the 1981 film Christiane F., and the 1982 EP David Bowie in Bertolt Brecht’s Baal.

Welcome to the Blackout (Live London ’78) initially was made available as a three-LP vinyl set last month exclusively in independent record shops, and it now will get a wide release as a two-CD set, in digital formats and via streaming services. The album features previously unreleased performances from concerts Bowie played at London’s Earls Court on June 30 and July 1 of ’78 during his Isolar II Tour. Among the songs included are “‘Heroes,” “The Jean Genie,” “Sound and Vision,” “Fame,” “Ziggy Stardust,” “Suffragette City,” and “Rebel Rebel.”

Bowie’s 1981 soundtrack to the movie Christiane F. — Wir Kinder von Bahnoff Zoo will be reissued on red vinyl, marking the first time in 30 years that the album will be available on vinyl. The LP will be sold exclusively at retail stores and features a selection of Bowie songs from various studio albums he released during the late 1970s. The track list includes “TVC 15,” “Boys Keep Swinging,” “Station to Station” and a German version of “Heroes,” titled “Helden.” Christiane F. — Wir Kinder von Bahnoff Zoo was based on the 1978 book Christiane F. about a troubled young German actress.

David Bowie in Bertolt Brecht’s Baal features Bowie’s renditions of five songs written for German playwright Bertolt Brecht‘s 1918 play, Baal. The EP will be reissued as a limited-edition 10-inch vinyl disc available exclusively at record stores and will be housed in a trifold sleeve replicating the disc’s original packaging.
