Silver Arrow RecordsIt’s almost too hard to handle how prolific former Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson‘s current band The Chris Robinson Brotherhood is.

The psychedelic roots-rock outfit has announced plans release its third studio album in less than a year. It’s called Barefoot in the Head, and it’ll arrive on July 21.

The new record finds the group exploring a variety of styles, including funk, country, blues, folk and psychedelia. You can check out the album’s lead track, the funky and soulful “Behold the Seer”, now at The Chris Robinson Brotherhood’s official SoundCloud page. The track will be available at all streaming services starting this Friday, May 19.

Regarding the meaning behind the album’s title, Robinson says, “We want everybody to understand that no matter where you are in your life that you can always be barefoot in your head. There’s always this other place you can go. Is that place real? That’s your decision to make: what you’re going to let be real to you.”

The Chris Robinson Brotherhood also features ex-Black Crowes keyboardist Adam MacDougall, as well as veteran singer/guitarist Neal Casal, drummer Tony Leone and bassist Jeff Hill. Since its 2011 formation, the band has issued five studio albums, including Anyway You Love, We Know How You Feel in July 2016 and If You Lived Here, You Would Be Home by Now in November 2016.

The group has a busy upcoming tour itinerary that mapped out through a September 23 appearance at the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, Kentucky. First up for The Chris Robinson Brotherhood is an opening set at Gov’t Mule‘s concert this Wednesday, May 17, at the Central Park Summer Stage in New York City.
