Austin City Limits will give some lucky fans the chance to attend the taping for free. Details will be announced at the show’s Facebook page and Twitter feed about one week before the event. No word yet when the episode will premiere.

Simon kicked off a new North American tour with a performance Sunday at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. He’s promoting his upcoming studio album, Stranger to Stranger, which will be released on June 3. The record, which Paul co-produced with his longtime collaborator Roy Hallee, finds Simon experimenting with an eclectic variety of sounds, including electronic dance music and Flamenco.

Simon recently shared “Cool Papa Bell,” a new song from Stranger to Stranger, on his official SoundCloud page. The song is based on a famous baseball player of the same name who played in the Negro Leagues from the early 1920s until 1950.

As Paul explains in the Stranger to Stranger liner notes, “He was considered one of the fastest men ever to play the game. Legend has it that Bell could turn off a light switch and be in bed before the light went out.”
