Eric Ryan AndersonA roster of musical greats including Sting, Elvis Costello, k.d. lang and members of the Lumineers will help celebrate the life and music of the late Leonard Cohen.

In a Facebook post, Cohen’s family announced Tower of Song: A Memorial Tribute to Leonard Cohen, set for November 6 at Bell Centre in the singer/poet’s native Montreal.

Other participants include Lana Del Rey, Feist, Damien Rice, Canadian singer/songwriter Patrick Watson and renowned modern classical composer Phillip Glass. According to the post, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Quebec Premiere Philippe Couillard will also be in attendance.

The tribute is being overseen by Cohen’s musician son Adam, who co-produced his father’s final album, 2016’s You Want It Darker. Adam explains, “My father left me with a list of instructions before he passed: ‘Put me in a pine box next to my mother and father. Have a small memorial for close friends and family in Los Angeles…and if you want a public event do it in Montreal.’ I see this concert as a fulfillment of my duties to my father that we gather in Montreal to ring the bells that still can ring.”
