Stevie Nicks, who will become the first female artist to be inducted twice into the Rock Hall — having previously been honored as a member of Fleetwood Mac — writes on her Twitter feed, “I have a lot to say about this — but I will save those words for later. For now I will just say, I have been in a band since 1968. To be recognized for my solo work makes me take a deep breath and smile. It’s a glorious feeling.”

The Zombies had been eligible for induction for 30 years, and were nominated four times before being chosen for the honor. Founding vocalist Colin Blunstone and keyboardist Rod Argent spoke separately with Rolling Stone about how it feels to finally be acknowledged by the Rock Hall.

“I’ve tried to be fairly philosophical about it and tell myself that if we don’t get inducted, it’s just a bit of fun,” Blunstone explained. “But of course when you’re actually inducted everything changes and you think, ‘This is a career-defining…a life-defining moment.'”

Argent notes, “To think that…I’m on the same roster as Miles Davis, Ray Charles and all my heroes that have been inducted…it just feels like a complete honor.”

Meanwhile, Roxy Music front man Bryan Ferry, speaking for his old band, writes on his own Twitter feed, “We are delighted to accept this prestigious award on behalf of everyone who has been involved in the world of Roxy Music — musicians, engineers, producers, designers and numerous people behind the scenes… and of course our loyal fans.”
