Sammy Hagar and James Hetfield announce 2017 Acoustic-4-a-Cure lineup; Dave Grohl stepping in for Hetfield

Courtesy of Acoustic-4-a-CureSammy Hagar and Metallica‘s James Hetfield have revealed the lineup for the fourth annual edition of their star-studded Acoustic-4-a-Cure benefit concert, which will take place May 15 at The Fillmore in San Francisco.

This year’s event will see Foo FightersDave Grohl filling in for Hetfield, who will be on the road with Metallica in May.  Also joining Hagar on the bill are The Grateful Dead‘s Bob Weir, Fleetwood Mac‘s Mick Fleetwood, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, ex-Eagles guitarist Don Felder, Sarah McLachlan and Steve Vai, among others.

Tickets for the Acoustic-4-a-Cure IV show will go on sale Friday, March 31, at 10 a.m. PT via LiveNation.com. There’s a two-ticket limit per person. In addition, a limited number of VIP packages will be available offering premium seats, a commemorative poster and T-shirt, complimentary food and drinks and more.

The event historically has featured the various artists performing acoustically, and includes unique duets, jams and surprise guest appearances. Founded Hagar and Hetfield, Acoustic-4-a-Cure raises funds for and awareness of the pediatric cancer program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.
