Rod Stewart doesn’t mind that his kids don’t like his music

Asked if his sons Alastair, 12, and Aidan, 7, like his music, Rod says with a laugh, “Oh no, my kids — younger kids — are very much into hip-hop.”  He says the only song of his that they like isn’t really one of his songs: It’s a track called “Everyday,” on which rapper A$AP Rocky sampled his voice from a 1970 song.

“They love the one I did with A$AP Rocky,” Stewart tells ABC Radio. “They say, “Dad, why don’t you [sing] it?”

But Rod is philosophical about his sons’ lack of interest in his work.  “I suppose it is more grown-up music,” he says.

Stewart’s current tour in support of Blood Red Roses wraps up November 3 in Reno, Nevada.  He’ll kick off another batch of Las Vegas residency dates at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting November 23.
