Robert Plant, Nancy Wilson, Ann Wilson, Grace Potter (Getty Images for God’s Love We Deliver)After Variety reported Thursday that Robert Plant would be part of the rumored lineup of the 50th anniversary Woodstock festival this August, the Led Zeppelin legend confirmed the news that night on the red carpet at the third annual Love Rocks NYC benefit concert.
Asked by reporters what his 2019 plans were, Plant declared that he would be playing Woodstock. The Woodstock 50 festival is scheduled to take place August 16-18 in Watkins Glen, New York.
Plant’s set was among the many highlights of the Love Rocks NYC show, held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. According to Jambase, Robert sang the Elvis Presley tunes “Don’t” and “A Mess of Blues,” then teamed up with Sheryl Crow for a version of the 1955 R&B tune “Rich Woman,” which he previously recorded with Alison Krauss for their Grammy-winning collaborative album Raising Sand.
He also sang the Led Zeppelin classic “Thank You,” and then was joined by most of the evening’s other performers, including Heart‘s Ann and Nancy Wilson, for a rendition of Bill Haley & His Comets‘ “Shake, Rattle & Roll.”
The concert’s entire cast hit the stage with Plant for the big finale, a version of the Dave Mason-penned Traffic song “Feelin’ Aright.”
The concert also marked the first time that the Wilson sisters have played together since 2015, when Heart wrapped up their most recent tour.
Among the show’s other performers were ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons, Buddy Guy, Mavis Staples, Jimmie Vaughan, Hozier and Grace Potter, as well as Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Martin Short.
The event raised money for the God’s Love We Deliver charity, which cooks and delivers medically tailored meals to New Yorkers living with severe illness.
