Scott Dudelson/Getty ImagesStone Temple Pilots guitarist Dean DeLeo has denied allegations that he abused his his estranged wife, Jenn DeLeo, TMZ reports.
When Jenn filed for divorce in June, she accused Dean of physically and verbally assaulting her, often while he was inebriated. She also claimed that Dean nearly drowned their then-newborn baby in the ocean while he was drunk.
In new docs obtained by TMZ, Dean denies that he abused Jenn, and says that the alleged ocean incident was a lie. He also says he’s been sober since 2013.
Dean is seeking joint custody of his and Jenn’s six-year-old daughter.
In June, Jenn tweeted, “I want to give a shout out to anyone who’s in a domestic violence situation! It’s not your fault for staying so long. Please find the strength to leave. Once you do it’s beautiful. Sending love #domesticabuse #metoo.”
She added, “I was in one with #DeanDeLeo for the past 8 years!!!”
