Adela Loconte/FilmMagicOver the summer, Billy Corgan was named the president of Impact Ventures, the parent company of the pro-wrestling promoters TNA Wrestling. Now, it appears the relationship between the Smashing Pumpkins frontman and TNA has soured over the last few months — Corgan has reportedly sued TNA owner Dixie Carter.
According to TMZ, Corgan has filed suit against Carter, her husband Serg Salias, TNA Wrestling and Impact Ventures. The reasons for Corgan’s legal actions are presently unclear, but he did file for a temporary restraining order, which a judge reportedly granted.
In a statement to TMZ, a spokesperson for Corgan says, “As president, Billy is looking out for the long-term interest of the company, its employees, its talent, as well as its stakeholders and contractors.”
Corgan, well-known for being a wrestling aficionado, first joined TNA Wrestling in April 2015 as a “senior producer for creative and talent development.” He was named president of Impact Ventures last August.
