Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder blasts “narcissistic” Donald Trump during Amsterdam show

ABC/Craig SjodinEddie Vedder shared his thoughts on President Donald Trump during Pearl Jam‘s show in Amsterdam Wednesday night. Spoiler alert: he’s not a fan.

In introducing the band’s new political single “Can’t Deny Me,” Vedder sarcastically told the crowd that the song “has nothing to do with, let’s say, someone like Donald Trump.”

“Absolutely has nothing to do with that, I wouldn’t want to waste my breath,” Vedder said. “But it is interesting: How does it feel when you’ve got a world leader that insults all of your allies and…people with good intentions representing their people? But then he gets along famously with dictators and despots.”

“I don’t know what to make of that. That’s just really disturbing,” he added. “And I don’t think he’s crazy like a fox, I think he’s crazy like a narcissistic motherf***er. Anyways, this song is not about him!”

You can watch fan-shot footage of Vedder’s speech and Pearl Jam’s performance now on YouTube.

Pearl Jam played the Amsterdam show as part of their current European tour. They’ll return stateside for a U.S. stadium run beginning August 8 in Seattle.
