Paul McCartney schedules three new US concerts in 2019; posts full New York City concert on YouTube

MJ Kim/© MPL Communications Ltd.In the wake of the release this past Friday of his latest studio album, Egypt Station, Paul McCartney has added three new U.S. concerts to the 2019 portion of his Freshen Up Tour.

The newly announced dates will take place on May 23 in New Orleans; June 3 in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and June 26 in Phoenix, Arizona. McCartney has never played in Fort Wayne before, while his shows in New Orleans and Phoenix mark his first performances in those cities since 2014.

Tickets for the new shows go on sale to the general public on Monday, September 17, at 10 a.m. local time, while American Express card members will be able to purchase pre-sale tickets beginning Tuesday, September 11, at 10 a.m. through Thursday, September 13, at 10 p.m. local time.

McCartney now has a total of eight confirmed U.S. concerts lined up in 2019, spanning from the New Orleans date through the Phoenix show. His Freshen Up Tour gets underway this month with a run of four Canadian dates starting September 17 in Quebec City. He also will be playing twice at the Austin City Limits Festival in Austin, Texas in October.

The former Beatles legend celebrated Egypt Station‘s release on Friday with an intimate, invite-only concert at New York City’s Grand Central Terminal. The event was streamed on Sir Paul’s official YouTube channel that same night and has now been archived at the site. The show ran for more than one hour and 40 minutes, and featured McCartney and his band performing Beatles, Wings and solo classics, as well as several songs from the new album. Among the celebrities spotted in the audience were Meryl Streep, Jon Bon Jovi, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer and Jimmy Fallon.
