Travis Shinn; Courtesy of TotoTwo major pop-rock acts that emerged during the late ’70s, Pat Benatar and Toto, are joining forces for a summer tour that will take them across North America. So far, only three shows have been announced — August 27 in Los Angeles, September 10 in Peachtree City, Georgia, and September 14 in New York City — but many more are expected.
As always, Benatar will be accompanied by her husband, guitarist Neil Giraldo.
“Looking forward to sharing the stage this year with our good friends and great players, Toto,” Pat and Neil say in a joint statement. “We’ve known each other for years and never had the opportunity to do an extended tour together until now. Should be good times for all.”
Toto guitarist Steve Lukather adds, “I’ve known Neil a long time and he’s a fantastic musician…Pat’s voice is one of the all time greats and we’re super excited to join together with them to do some shows this summer.”
Leading up to their shows with Toto, Benatar and Giraldo have a variety of other concerts on their 2017 itinerary, including several co-headlining dates with Rick Springfield and a number of intimate acoustic gigs. Toto, meanwhile, has a previously reported U.S. headlining trek that runs from a June 2 show in Lake Charles, Louisiana, through a July 1 concert in Salina, Kansas.
