The lineup has been revealed for the seventh season of the AXS TV series The Big Interview, and as usual, host Dan Rather will be chatting with a variety of legendary music artists.

Among the stars appearing on the show’s various episodes this year are ex-Journey frontman Steve Perry, Foreigner co-founders Mick Jones and Lou Gramm, KISS singer Paul Stanley, REO Speedwagon and Boz Scaggs.

The season kicks off Tuesday, April 16, at 8 p.m. ET with an in-depth conversation with Perry, who discusses his decision to give up singing for many years after parting ways with Journey.  He also talks about his personal life, his experience being a child of divorce and the highs and lows of rock stardom.

In a preview clip from the episode posted on AXS TV’s YouTube channel, Steve explains what led him to withdraw from the music business.

“I could not find the honest passion for singing, and because of that, I was stepping into some other, dare I say, party behaviors to augment my frustration,” Perry recalls. “And then, I think my voice was also suffering. I think everything started to suffer for me, and it did not help restore my passion for music.”

He adds, “Eventually, the feeling just got very clear to me that I need to just stop. And I didn’t know where I was going. I didn’t know what I was going to do…All I knew was that I can’t keep doing what I’m doing…’cause this is not going anywhere good.”

Other celebs slated to appear on new episodes of The Big Interview include Cyndi Lauper, Paul Shaffer and country star Travis Tritt.
