The movie will be titled Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese, and will feature original on-camera interviews with Dylan and other musicians who took part in the trek.

According to Variety, Netflix’s description of the movie says it “captures the troubled spirit of America in 1975 and the joyous music that Dylan performed during the fall of that year.”

It adds, “Part documentary, part concert film, part fever dream, Rolling Thunder is a one of a kind experience.”

The Rolling Thunder Revue tour featured Dylan delivering relaxed performances with a variety of musicians, including Joan Baez, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Byrds frontman Roger McGuinn ex-David Bowie guitarist Mick Ronson and Bob NeuwirthJoni Mitchell made a guest appearance at a few of the shows.

No premiere date has been announced for the film, but there’s speculation that it could be released in the fall in conjunction with a new installment of Dylan’s ongoing Bootleg Series box sets.

Scorsese previously directed another Dylan documentary, 2005’s award-winning No Direction Home, which focused on the tumultuous period of Bob’s career in the mid 1960s when he “went electric.”
