The Lennon Report, which debuted in April at the Beverly Hills Film Festival, takes a look at the aftermath of the tragic event, including doctors’ efforts to save the rock legend’s life and the TV producer tasked with breaking the news of John’s death.

The film’s cast includes Richard Kind as Dr. Stephan Lynn, Evan Jonigkeit as Dr. David Halleran and Walter Vincent as ABC news producer Alan B. Weiss, as well as Orange Is the New Black star Adrienne C. Moore. The movie was directed and written by Jeremy Profe, who co-wrote the script with Vincent.

The Lennon Report initially will open in 10 cities — New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco and Tampa, Florida. It will get a wider release on October 14.

Previous theatrical movies made about former Beatles star’s murder include 2007’s The Killing of John Lennon and 2008’s Chapter 27.
