New Buddy Guy album, featuring Rolling Stones members and Jeff Beck, debuts at #1 on Blues Albums chart

Silvertone/RCA RecordsCongratulations to Buddy Guy, who has scored his sixth #1 album on the Billboard Blues Albums chart with his latest studio effort, The Blues Is Alive and Well.

As previously reported, the album features guest appearances by The Rolling StonesMick Jagger and Keith Richards, and U.K. guitar great Jeff Beck. Jagger lends his harmonica talents to a song called “You Did the Crime,” while Richards and Beck trade guitar licks with Guy on a tune titled “Cognac.”

Interestingly, The Rolling Stones’ latest album, 2016’s Blue & Lonesome, is currently in the #9 position on Billboard‘s Blues Albums tally.

Guy has a bevy of upcoming U.S. concerts lined up for 2018, spanning from a June 28 show in Apple Valley, Minnesota, through an October 6 gig in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Visit BuddyGuy.net to check out his full itinerary.

In addition, Buddy will be honored with the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the 17th Americana Honors & Awards Ceremony, held September 12 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
