Jimmy King; Rick Diamond/WireImageWe’ve lost a lot of musical legends this year, and now AXS TV is paying tribute to some of them on a special episode of The Big Interview, the series hosted by newsman Dan Rather. The Big Interview — Special Edition: Legends Lost, which premieres June 7 at 8 p.m. ET, will honor the lives of David Bowie, Prince and B.B. King, among others.

The hour-long special will be divided into segments focusing on each individual artist and will use archival footage and exclusive interviews to give viewers an inside look at the music stars’ lives and careers.

During the show, Rather will chat with painter George Underwood, a childhood friend of Bowie, about the influential rock singer and songwriter. In addition, Prince’s best friend and original bassist, Andre Cymone, will make a rare TV appearance to give insight into the musical genius’ personal life that many people never got to see. Also, King’s longtime drummer, T.C. Coleman, will discuss the bond that the blues icon had with his famous guitar, “Lucille.”

Other recently departed music legends who will be paid tribute during the special include country great Merle Haggard and pop/R&B singer Natalie Cole.
