Metallica releasing “Helping Hands” live album recorded at acoustic charity show

ABC/Randy HolmesEarlier this month, Metallica played a rare acoustic show at the Masonic in their hometown of San Francisco to raise money for their All Within My Hands charity foundation. If you missed your chance to see the metal legends unplugged, you can still listen to the special performance thanks to an upcoming live album.

Metallica will release Helping Hands…Live & Acoustic at the Masonic on February 1, 2019. It’ll be available on vinyl in independent record stores, as well as on digital platforms.

The performance included acoustic versions of Metallica classics such as “Enter Sandman” and “Nothing Else Matters,” as well as covers of songs by Deep Purple, Nazareth, Bob Seger and Blue Oyster Cult.

Through the concert, Metallica raised over $1.3 million for issues including hunger and workforce education.
