Mellencamp, Gibbons, Fleetwood & More Appearing on New Season of Sammy Hagar’s AXS TV Reality Series

Courtesy of AXS TVSammy Hagar‘s AXS TV reality series Rock & Roll Road Trip is returning for a second season that’s scheduled to premiere Sunday, March 5, at 9 p.m. ET. The show, hosted by the Red Rocker himself, features Hagar conversing and jamming with various musical friends in different cities.

Among the famous rockers appearing on the upcoming season are John Mellencamp, ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons, Mick Fleetwood, Metallica‘s James Hetfield and Cheap Trick‘s Rick Nielsen.

This new season of Rock & Roll Road Trip will feature 12 episodes, and will kick off with a special hour-long show focusing on the third annual Acoustic-4-a-Cure benefit concert Hagar co-founded with Hetfield. The May 2016 event was held at San Francisco’s Fillmore Theatre, and featured performances by Hagar, Hetfield, John Mayer, Melissa Etheridge, Train‘s Pat Monahan, Motley Crue‘s Tommy Lee, Chickenfoot guitarist Joe Satriani and more.

Mellencamp will appear on the March 19 episode, which will feature Hagar visiting the heartland rocker in his hometown of Bloomington, Indiana. The March 26 installment of the program will feature Nielsen chatting with Hagar in Chicago, as well as a performances by Sammy’s star-studded group The Circle at Red Rock Amphitheatre outside of Denver.

The April 2 episode will feature Gibbons and Hagar discussing rock music and teaming up for a blues jam at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California. For the April 9 show, Sammy will visit Fleetwood at the drummer’s restaurant on the Hawaiian island of Maui.

In celebration of the second season of Rock & Roll Road Trip, Hagar will participate in a Q&A that will be streamed live on Sammy’s Facebook page on Sunday, February 19. That same day, AXS TV will host a marathon screening of the series’ first season that will run from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
