Teachrock FoundationSteve Van Zandt has announced a tour with his band Disciples of Soul in support of teachers, set to touch down in communities where educators are or have been on strike.
The tour will also feature a standalone training session for teachers called TeachRock, which Little Steven’s announcement describes as “the Rock and Roll Forever Foundation’s free, multimedia, K-12 interdisciplinary curriculum which meets prevailing standards in English Language Arts, Social Studies/History, the Fine and Performing Arts.”
The shows will give free tickets to teachers who attend the training session, as well as a +1 for guests. Proceeds from standard ticket sales will benefit the Teachrock Foundation.
This isn’t Little Steven’s first road collaboration with the educational organization. This past spring, the E Street Band guitarist also took his side project on the road to kick some cash to the charity.
Van Zandt continues to promote his 2017 album, Soulfire.
