Genesis PublicationsA new, limited-edition book about Fleetwood Mac‘s turbulent early years written by the band’s drummer, Mick Fleetwood, will be published this fall. Love that Burns — A Chronicle of Fleetwood Mac: Volume 1, 1967-1975 tells the band’s story from its inception as a blues-rock outfit led by virtuoso guitarist Peter Green up to its mid-’70s transformation into a hugely successful pop act coinciding with the arrival of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.

In addition to Fleetwood’s recollections, the book will include a variety of rare photos of the band. Only 2,000 copies will be available, each one signed by the author.

“My book Love that Burns reveals where Fleetwood Mac came from and it’s an important story to tell,” says Mick in a statement.

Fleetwood will discuss the forthcoming memoir at a recently announced Q&A event taking place March 15 at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will chat with respected rock journalist David Fricke at the event, during which attendees also will be treated to an advance preview of Love that Burns.

In addition, the book’s publisher, Genesis Publications, is partnering with the festival to offer a special VIP package to early purchasers of the book. The package includes admittance to the Q&A event, a one-day pass to SXSW, an invitation to a meet-and-greet with Fleetwood and a commemorative bookplate boasting a personal dedication from Mick.
