Green Amp Records/Red River EntertainmentFounding Kinks guitarist Dave Davies has premiered a new video for his song “Web of Time,” one of the 13 tracks featured on his recently released archival solo album, Decade. The introspective tune, which dates back to the mid-1970s, finds the 71-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer reflecting on maturity and how people treat one another.

The video begins with a kaleidoscopic animated segment that fades to show a series of images of Dave from the ’60s, including a photo, a 1967 newspaper interview and the cover of his “Death of a Clown” single. The rest of the clip alternates between recent footage of Davies visiting the Muswell Hill neighborhood of London where he grew up and performing onstage, and vintage photos and home movies.

Watch the video now at Davies’ official YouTube channel.

Dave recently told ABC Radio that “Web of Time” was among his favorite tracks on Decade, which features previously unreleased recordings dating from 1971 to 1979.

“It sits very well in the running order, and when you hear it, it lives in its own little world,” Davies said. “To me, it evokes so many memories and thoughts and feelings.”

Meanwhile, in a new interview posted on the website of the U.K. magazine Classic Rock, Dave explains that “Web of Time” is “about my feelings and reflections about where we stand as people and what we are doing to each other, why we do the things we do. Questioning life — is it just chaos or is there more to it? I think it’s poignant for these times.”

Meanwhile, Davies has lined up a nine-date U.S. solo tour next year that kicks off April 9 in Collingswood, New Jersey. Check out his full schedule at DaveDavies.com.
