ABC/Randy HolmesThe members of Metallica have long been vocal about their support for their hometown sports teams, including the NFL’s Oakland Raiders. However, the Raiders won’t be local to the Bay Area for much longer, as the team is moving to Las Vegas by the 2019 or 2020 season. James Hetfield, for one, still has some sour feelings about his team’s relocation.

“I’m just still a little pissed about…the move,” Hetfield tells TMZ. However, he still plans to support his Raiders, even when they’re playing out of Las Vegas.

“I mean, I supported them going to L.A. [in 1982] and back [in 1995],” says Hetfield. “I grew up with the Raiders, so that’ll be how it is. I will support ’em, I’m sure.”

The NFL owners approved the Raiders’ application to move to Las Vegas in March. Prior to the vote, Hetfield had publicly campaigned to keep the Raiders in Oakland.

Metallica is currently on a North American tour in support of their new album Hardwired…to Self-Destruct.
