Iron Maiden unleashing Legacy of the Beast Tour on North America next summer

Courtesyof Live NationRather than running for the hills, Iron Maiden fans in North America will be running to their local arenas and amphitheaters next summer and fall, as the British heavy-metal legends will be bringing their Legacy of the Beast Tour across the pond in 2019. The trek, which will feature more than 30 dates, gets underway on July 18 in Sunrise, Florida, and is plotted out through a September 25 show in San Antonio, Texas.

Tickets for most of the shows go on sale to the general public on Friday, November 16, at 10 a.m. local time via LiveNation.com. Iron Maiden fan club members will have the opportunity to purchase pre-sale tickets. Visit IronMaiden.com for more details. Fozzy will open the band’s September 14 show in Los Angeles.

The tour is inspired by Iron Maiden’s free mobile game The Legacy of the Beast, which features various incarnations of the band’s famous zombie mascot, Eddie, journeying through a series of different worlds. You can download the game for Apple and Android devices for free at IronMaiden.com/play.

As Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson explains, the band’s stage show takes “fans through different worlds and experiences set to appropriate songs.”

He adds, “We put a huge amount of work into this to make it work and the end result we feel is our most spectacular and certainly the most complex show to date. We’ve got all kinds of crazy things going on, including a replica Spitfire plane…tons of pyro, a giant Icarus, muskets, claymores and some truly marvelous flame-throwers.”

Meanwhile, bassist Steve Harris notes that the band put a lot of thought into selecting songs “to follow the narrative of the changing worlds of the stage show.”
