Credit: Jimmy KingHBO has acquired the U.S. TV rights to the documentary David Bowie: The Last Five Years.
The BBC Films production aired on BBC Two in the U.K. back in January. It was directed by Francis Whately as a sequel to the 2013 documentary David Bowie: Five Years.
According to HBO, the movie features rarely seen Bowie interviews, and interviews with the late Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s friends and collaborators. It also features archival footage and audio from the recording sessions for his final albums, The Next Day and Blackstar.
No word yet on an HBO air date.
