MPL/Capitol/UMePaul McCartney continues his ongoing Archive Collection reissue campaign with the December 7 release of expanded versions of his first two albums with his post-Beatles band Wings: Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway.

A super deluxe box set titled Wings 1971-1973 featuring both expanded reissues, plus bonus live recordings and memorabilia also will be available that day.

Released in December ’71, Wild Life was Wings’ debut album. It yielded no hits, but peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200. The deluxe reissue is a three-CD/DVD set featuring a remastered version of the album; 25 bonus tracks including rough mixes, single edits, B-sides, demos and other material; and rare video footage, including acoustic home performances, rehearsals and more.

Red Rose Speedway, which was released in April ’73, reached #1 on the Billboard 200, bolstered by McCartney’s chart-topping ballad “My Love.” The deluxe reissue is a six-disc set featuring three CDs, two DVDs and a Blu-ray.

The CDs features a newly remastered edition of the album and 30-plus bonus tracks, including a recreation of the originally conceived double-album version of the release, plus singles, B-sides, alternate mixes and more.

The DVDs and Blu-ray contain a bounty of rare footage, including the 1973 U.K. TV special James Paul McCartney, interviews, music videos and an unreleased, partly animated concert film titled The Bruce McMouse Show.

Both deluxe packages also include 128-page hardbound books and download cards.

The Wings 1971-1973 box set is an 11-disc collection featuring the two deluxe reissues, plus an exclusive live album titled Wings over Europe boasting 20 previously unreleased performances recorded during the band’s 1972 tour. Also included: a 96-page photo book, a replica tour program and more.
