Eagle Rock EntertainmentThe expanded and remastered reissue of The Rolling Stones‘ 1995 concert video Voodoo Lounge Live — which features footage from a November 1994 show in the Miami area — gets its release in multiple formats today.
Retitled Voodoo Lounge Uncut, the package features 10 previously unreleased performances and is available as a DVD/two-CD set, a DVD/two-Blu-ray collection and a digital video. Also available: three-LP sets on black vinyl and colored vinyl, as well as digital-audio editions.
The concert took place at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, during The Stones’ tour in support of their chart-topping 1994 album, Voodoo Lounge. The show featured an introduction from Whoopi Goldberg, and guest appearances by Sheryl Crow, rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Bo Diddley and blues guitarist Robert Cray.
The band’s set featured several Voodoo Lounge tunes, a few covers, some deep cuts and an assortment of Stones classics, including “Tumbling Dice,” “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Beast of Burden,” “Angie,” “Miss You,” “Honky Tonk Women,” “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Start Me Up,” “Brown Sugar” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.”
The Voodoo Lounge Uncut video also boasts five bonus performances shot in August 1994 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Several videos promoting the new release have been posted on the band’s official YouTube channel. Among them: a short documentary featuring frequent Stones art director Mark Norton discussing the images he designed for the Voodoo Lounge tour and the Voodoo Lounge Uncut packaging; a trailer for the concert film; and full performance clips of “Miss You” and “Happy.”
