Exit amps: Watch Metallica’s acoustic performance of “Enter Sandman” at charity show

ABC/Randy HolmesMetallica has shared a new live video filmed during the metal legends’ acoustic charity show last November. The latest clip features an unplugged performance of the band’s biggest hit: “Enter Sandman.”

While the original “Enter Sandman” is a metal anthem that’s rocked stadiums the world over, its acoustic makeover turns the track into a slow, creepy tune befitting of a drifter walking down a dusty trail. You can watch the performance now on YouTube.

The entire acoustic show, which raised over $1.3 million for issues including hunger and workforce education, was recorded for a new live album, which is out today.

In addition to unplugged performances of Metallica classics such as “Enter Sandman,” the album also includes covers of songs by Deep Purple, Nazareth, Bob Seger and Blue Oyster Cult.
