Documentary Focusing on “6th Beatle” to Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival

Courtesy of TIFFA new documentary called The 6th Beatle about Sam Leach, who served as The Beatles’ agent during their early years playing in the clubs of Liverpool, U.K., will premiere during the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival next month. The movie takes a look at Leach’s alleged role in helping to draw attention to the rock legends, as well as revealing details about the band’s road to stardom, including the story behind original drummer Pete Best‘s ouster from the group.

The film includes interviews with Leach, Best, Beatles session drummer Andy White and official Fab Four biographer Mark Lewisohn, among many others.

The 6th Beatle was co-written and co-directed by Tony Guma and John Rose.

As previously reported, the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival also will feature the premiere of The Rolling Stones Olé Olé Olé!: A Trip Across Latin America, a documentary focusing on the band’s recent Olé America Latina tour. The festival runs from September 8 to September 18.
