ABC/Adam TaylorDave Grohl has shared a new preview of his upcoming solo project Play, a 23-minute solo track on which the Foo Fighters frontman and ex-Nirvana drummer plays every instrument.
The 55-second clip, streaming now on YouTube, shows Grohl moving from instrument to instrument in a dark, round room. The music builds and builds until the end of the trailer, when we hear what could be the song’s main guitar riff.
Play will be accompanied by a two-part documentary that details the inspiration, writing and recording of the track, and emphasizes the importance of children’s music education. You’ll be able to listen and watch the whole thing on August 10.
Meanwhile, Grohl and the rest of the Foos recently wrapped a summer tour behind their new album, Concrete and Gold. The band will hit the road again for a fall tour in September.
