Dave Grohl loves your weird Foo Fighters fan art

ABC/Andrea McCallinDave Grohl has another confession to make: He loves all of your strange Foo Fighters fan art.

“We like sending each other weird fan drawings because we always think they’re really funny,” Grohl tells NME.

“I love it when the fan will draw a picture and spend loads of time on it and be really proud of it and be like ‘I did it because it looks just like you’ and they’re always just a little off,” he adds. “You look like you’ve had a stroke, one eyeball’s bigger than the other.”

According to guitarist Pat Smear, the Foos hang up the fan art on the walls in the recording studio. Additionally, one piece is being used to decorate Taylor Hawkins‘ kick drum.

“So I sent [a piece of fan art] to Taylor…and he replied ‘that one went straight to Yeti,’ his drum tech, right directly within 20 seconds and now he’s gonna make a…kick drum out of it,” Grohl says.

If you want to see if your art is gracing Hawkins’ drum kit, you can catch Foo Fighters on their North American tour in support of their new album, Concrete and Gold. The outing continues Thursday, October 12, in Washington, D.C.
