Crosby, Nash & Robbie Robertson Among Stars Featured on New Season of “Speakeasy” Interview Series

Credit: Harry SandlerDavid Crosby, Graham Nash, The Band‘s Robbie Robertson and ex-Mott the Hoople singer Ian Hunter are among the music stars appearing on the second season of the public television series Speakeasy, which premieres on select stations Sunday, October 16. Each episode of the hour-long show features a well-known artist who converses about various topics with a personally chosen interviewer.

This season will include six episodes, with the first show featuring Frankie Valli chatting with Paul Shaffer. The other episodes pair Crosby with jazz great Wynton Marsalis, Nash with singer and former girlfriend Rita Coolidge, Robertson with roots rocker and author Warren Zanes, Hunter with Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott, and Cyndi Lauper with Tony Award-winning actor Billy Porter.

An exclusive video offering a montage of highlights from the new season of Speakeasy premiered recently at Billboard.com. In the clip, Crosby shares a recollection of his time spent in a Texas prison, Robertson discusses getting asked to perform in Bob Dylan‘s backing band, Nash recalls the night he met Coolidge, and Hunter describing how the inspiration to write a song comes to him.
