Just a reminder that the new concert film Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration, which documents a two-night Joni Mitchell tribute event held in Los Angeles this past November, will be screened in various theaters across North America starting February 7.

The movie features highlights of the two shows, which saw many big-name musicians coming together to help the iconic Canadian singer/songwriter celebrate her 75th birthday.  Graham Nash, James Taylor, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos, Chaka Khan, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Seal, Diana Krall and Rufus Wainwright are among the artists who took part in the concerts, held November 6 and 7 at The Music Center at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Highlights from the shows include Nash singing his 1970 Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young classic “Our House,” inspired by his romance with Mitchell; Taylor performing “Woodstock” and “River”; and a rendition of Joni’s “Big Yellow Taxi” sung by Taylor, Khan and others.

Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration also features backstage interviews of the various participants discussing what Mitchell’s music has meant to them, and footage of the November 7 event’s finale, where Joni herself hit the stage and was presented with a birthday cake and treated to the performers and the audience singing “Happy Birthday” to her.
