Mario Sorrenti for Harper’s BazaarIf the September fashion issue of Harper’s Bazaar had a theme song, it’d be “We Are Family.”  Some major rock and pop stars have been photographed with their children for a feature called “First Families of Music.”

Bruce Springsteen and his daughter, Jessica, grace the cover of the issue, and inside, you’ll find photos of Steven Tyler with daughter Liv, Billy Idol with daughter Bonnie Blue Broad and many other famous musicians with their kids.

In addition, the feature includes Keith Richards‘ daughters Alexandra and Theodora, and Michael Jackson‘s daughter Paris.

Harper’s Bazaar also shares some of the artists and their kids’ comments regarding their families in the mag.

Springsteen says the best advice he’s given his daughter is, “Keep your focus on what you really care about.”

The Boss and his daughter also reveal that they both consider themselves introverts rather than extroverts. Jessica elaborates: “Definitely an introvert. One time when I was watching my dad’s show with some friends by the side of the stage, he blindsided me and pulled me up onstage to dance with him during ‘Dancing in the Dark.’ I’m still traumatized.”

The Richards kids, whose mom is model Patti Hansen, say of their clan, “We are a traveling band of gypsies, this bunch. With everyone’s crazy lives, it makes for great stories around the fireplace. Music, dancing, and laughter fill our home, and we make it so we’re never apart for too long.”

Also appearing in the feature are Lionel Richie with daughter Nicole; Mariah Carey with her twins Monroe and Moroccan; Christina Aguilera with her kids Max Liron and Summer Rain; Kanye West with daughter North and son Saint; and Erykah Badu with daughters Puma and Mars.

The online version of the article also includes a video with footage of the photo subjects.  The issue is on newsstands August 21.
