Dot RecordsAerosmith frontman Steven Tyler‘s foray into country music has gotten off to a great start, as his twangy debut solo record, We’re All Somebody from Somewhere, has bowed at #1 on Billboard‘s Top Country Albums. According to Nielsen Music, the album sold 17,000 copies during its first week of release, which also was good enough for a #19 debut on the Billboard 200 chart.

Tyler recorded We’re All Somebody from Somewhere in Nashville, co-produced the album, and co-wrote most of the songs with various collaborators. Three singles have been released from the album so far — “Love Is Your Name,” “Red, White & You,” and the title track.

In early July, the 68-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer launched a North American solo tour in support of the album called the …Out on the Limb trek, which is mapped out through a September 13 show in Toronto.

After his solo tour winds down, Tyler will rejoin Aerosmith for a series of concerts, including a September 17 appearance at the Kaaboo Festival in Del Mar, California, and a run of fall Latin American dates.
