Republic RecordsRod Stewart, Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder and Soundgarden‘s Chris Cornell are among the many music stars featured on an upcoming soundtrack album gathering together many of the reinterpreted Beatles songs that appeared or will appear on the animated Netflix series Beat Bugs.
Beat Bugs: Best of Seasons 1 & 2 will be released on November 4, and includes Stewart’s rendition of “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” Vedder’s take on “Magical Mystery Tour” and Cornell’s perfoamnce of “Drive My Car.”
The 16-track album also features such stars as Jennifer Hudson, Pink, Sia and talk-show host James Corden. The soundtrack can be pre-ordered now at iTunes, and those ordering it will instantly receive free downloads of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” sung by Pink and “Blackbird” performed by Sia.
Beat Bugs, which was created by Josh Wakely, focuses on the adventures of a group of tiny friends whose whole universe revolves around the backyard of a suburban home, and who love to sing Beatles tunes. The show’s first season premiered on Netflix in August and got its iTunes release today. Season 2 of Beat Bugs debuts on Netflix on November 18 and will be available on iTunes the same day.
