The touring version of the stage production — inspired by Meat Loaf‘s landmark 1977 album and its sequels — will fly into New York’s City Center for an eight-week stand running from July 30 through September 22.

The engagement is part of a U.S. tour launching on November 7 at Detroit’s Fox Theatre.  In all, the musical will visit venues in nearly 20 cities for multiple performances.

Tickets for Bat Out of Hell: The Musical‘s New York City engagement will go on sale sometime next year. You can sign up for a chance to access pre-sale tickets to the shows at BatOutofHellMusical.com/us-tour.

Leading into the musical’s U.S. tour, the production is at Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre through November 3.

As previously reported, Bat Out of Hell: The Musical is a romantic adventure focusing on an eternally youthful street tribe locked in a desperate battle with a tyrant for control of the ruined city where they live.

The production showcases a variety of classic songs written by Jim Steinman and made famous by Meat Loaf, including “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad,” “Paradise by the Dashboard Light,” “You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth” and “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).”

The musical’s producers say, “We cannot wait for New Yorkers to experience the event: part Romeo and Juliet, part mind-blowing theatrical spectacular, part live concert, and all rock and roll!”
