The U.S. rockers claim in a message posted on their Facebook page that they ran into Johnson at an airport after returning home from their latest tour and they “asked him about the rumors of him being on the new AC/DC album.”

According to Terrorizer, Brian “said ‘Yes’ and that he is ‘Sick of denying it.'”

Rumors that Johnson had returned to AC/DC emerged last August when photos were posted online showing him and other members of the band at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada, where the group had recorded its last three studio albums.

In early 2016, AC/DC announced that Brian had been diagnosed with serious hearing problems and would no longer be able to tour with the band; the group subsequently hired Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose to step in for Johnson for the remainder of its tour supporting the 2014 Rock or Bust album.

Of note, longtime AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd also was spotted with Johnson in Vancouver. For the band’s 2015-2016 tour in support of Rock or Bust, Rudd had been replaced by ex-AC/DC drummer Chris Slade after Rudd was arrested on charges of attempting to procure a murder, threatening to kill and drug possession.

While the “attempting to procure a murder” charge was quickly dropped, Rudd was eventually sentenced to house arrest in conjunction with the two other charges.

Meanwhile, last August, JAM Magazine reported that according to “a reliable source” close to AC/DC, the band was putting together a new album using unreleased recordings featuring late rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young dating from the early 2000s.
