AXS TV to air Fleetwood Mac-themed marathon featuring rare Stevie Nicks concert film

Courtesy of AXS TVAXS TV will present a special block of Fleetwood Mac-themed programming Sunday, April 30. The “Sunday Night Rocks: Mac Attack” event begins at 4:30 p.m. ET with an encore screening of an episode of the Dan Rather-hosted The Big Interview, featuring Lindsey Buckingham, and also will include the premiere of the rare 1986 concert film Steve Nicks: Rock a Little.

Airing at 9 p.m. ET, Rock a Little captures a solo performance by Stevie Nicks at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The show features guest appearances by Peter Frampton and Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood. Stevie sings her solo hits “Edge of Seventeen,” “Talk to Me” and “Stand Back,” as well as the Fleetwood Mac classic “Dreams.”

The “Mac Attack” marathon also includes a program called Video Killed the Radio Star: The Artist View Fleetwood Mac, airing at 5:30 p.m. ET, that features Mick Fleetwood discussing some of his band’s best-known music videos.

Next up, at 6 p.m. ET, will be a segment of 2014 series Rock Legends profiling Fleetwood Mac, followed at 6:30 p.m. by a recent episode of the AXS TV series Rock and Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar that features Hagar chatting and jamming with Mick Fleetwood at his restaurant on Maui, Hawaii.

At 7 p.m. ET, AXS TV will show the concert film Fleetwood Mac: Live in Boston, which documents a 2003 performance from the band’s Say You Will tour.

Closing out the marathon at 10 p.m. ET will be the 2012 concert special Lindsey Buckingham with Special Guest Stevie Nicks, which features Buckingham performing songs from his solo career, plus some Fleetwood Mac tunes with accompaniment from longtime band mate Nicks.
