20th anniversary reissue of John Fogerty’s “Blue Moon Swamp” album due out next month

BMGJohn Fogerty has announced official plans to reissue his 1997 solo album Blue Moon Swamp on November 17 in honor of the Grammy-winning collection’s 20th anniversary. The album will be available on CD, 180-gram vinyl and as a digital download, while a limited-edition blue-vinyl 180-gram LP will be sold exclusively by Barnes & Noble.

Released in May 1997, Blue Moon Swamp was the ex-Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman’s fifth solo album and the first one he’d put out since 1986’s Eye of the Zombie. The record peaked at #37 on the Billboard 200, and was certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies in the U.S. In 1998, Blue Moon Swamp was awarded a Grammy for Best Rock Album.

The reissue features new cover art that recreates the backdrop Fogerty used for his tour in support of the album. Blue Moon Swamp is the first release in a series of upcoming reissues of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s solo recordings. Among the future releases will be 1985’s Centerfield, Eye of the Zombie, the 1998 live album Premonition, 2004’s Déjà vu (All Over Again) and a new best-of compilation.

The 72-year-old rocker also is working on a new album of original tunes that’s due out next year.

Earlier this month, Fogerty finished a series of shows as part of his ongoing Las Vegas residency at the Wynn resort’s Encore Theatre. He’ll begin a new run of dates at the venue in January 2018. John also has two 2017 concerts on his schedule — an October 28 show in Thackerville, Oklahoma, and an October 29 headlining performance in Austin, Texas, at a benefit for the Austin-based music education program All ATX.
