Courtesy of Record Store DayIt’s the time of year again that brings joy to vinyl lovers everywhere. The Record Store Day campaign has unfurled its list of exclusive releases for its 2016 Black Friday event, to be held in independent record stores on November 25.  The eclectic list of limited-edition releases includes discs from The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Foreigner, The Cars and Alice Cooper.

The Stones will release their cover of blues great Eddie Taylor’s 1955 song “Ride ‘Em on Down” as a 10-inch vinyl single. The track also will appear on the band’s forthcoming album Blue & Lonesome, due out December 2.

The Kinks will contribute four separate releases to the initiative, including a black-and-white-swirled-vinyl version of their 1978 LP Sleepwalker; and three seven-inch EPs, each featured four tracks dating from between 19654 and 1971.

Foreigner will release a 10-inch single celebrating its 40th anniversary that features a previously unreleased recording called “The Flame Still Burns” and the band’s debut single, “Feels Like the First Time.”

The Cars will issue a seven-inch picture disc that features two tracks from the band’s 1978 self-titled debut album — the hit “Just What I Needed” and “I’m in Touch with Your World.”

Cooper’s Black Friday offering is a seven-inch single titled Live from the Astroturf recorded during an October 2015 show at Dallas’ Good Records store that featured a reunion of the four surviving members of the original Alice Cooper band. The disc will be available in various colors of vinyl.

In addition, the 2017 installment of Record Store Day Black Friday will features releases from Billy Idol, Alice in Chains, The Beach Boys, Jerry Garcia, Iggy & The Stooges, Iron Maiden, Jethro Tull, Motley Crue, The Ramones, Frank Zappa and The Yardbirds.
